Open Shutter to the Past: San Francisco in Pictures: New Year’s Party - 1935

new-years-palace-hotel-1935.jpg

So I’m a bit of a sucker for some good ole’ San Francisco History. And I like pictures. Pictures make me smile. I like taking pictures, but mostly, I like looking at pictures. A photo gives us a tiny glimpse through the eye of the photgrapher that managed to capture the spirit of a split second of how the world once was. Sometimes a photo can rekindle a memory. Other times, a photo allows you to step back in time to a place you can’t have imagined existed without it. I love photos.

So, I thought that today was a great day to introduce you to a new weekly feature on my San Francisco Real Estate Blog - “Open Shutter to the Past: San Francisco in Pictures”, or better known as Friday to most people. And yes, I know that today isn’t Friday, but it’s my little New Year’s present to all of you!

So click on the above photo to get the full picture and to enjoy a taste of old San Francisco! This photo was taken at a New Year’s Eve party at the Palace Hotel in 1935.
