Triple ouch! Selling your home sucks right now
Yeesh! I’m glad I’m not selling right now. Pity the people who actually have to sell their homes to move for work, family, etc.
If you’re in Edmonton, Alberta or even Calgary, Alberta (and surrounding areas!), you already know ’bout the trouble goin’ down. It’s probably no surprise to you that the Calgary Herald has now reported the following Edmonton housing price drops for the most recent quarter (compared to a year ago):
- 11.8% for a detached bungalow
- 13.8% drop for a standard 2-storey home
- 18.8% drop for a standard condominium
Remember 1.5 years ago when people were saying that investing in anything in Edmonton was going to be not only a safe but a very lucrative investment? Oy! What a change……
What do we do with this info, then?
Well, if you have a home that you need to sell… you still need to sell it. That need doesn’t just go away. Of course, if you don’t NEED to sell it, think twice before listing it.
If you list, be aware that the price you have in your head probably needs to have at least 10% taken off it for it to be considered by a buyer today.
And, if you list, list with the right agent!!! How long do you want to let your house sit on the market… when the market is so brutal that every passing week actually means significant losses beyond just the carrying costs you used to have to worry about.
How do you find the right agent?
Ahhh…… you came to the right place. See, you could go the old-school way and ask your friends and family who they used, use that same agent and then try to avoid making eye contact with those friends/siblings/aunts anymore when that agent turns out to be not so stellar in today’s market.
Or… you could choose the best agent based on unbiased customor reviews.
Now, we don’t have a MILLION reviews, but we’ve got quite a few. And we’ve got 29 agents reviewed on our site right now. So you can find an Edmonton real estate agent ‘from scratch’ by using the “find an agent” tools on www.what-customers-say.com… or you can compare your current agent or an agent you’re considering to the competition by checking out their reviews on the site (if they have any) or asking them to have a few clients leave reviews so you can assess their strengths and weaknesses.
Find a top-rated agent today at www.What-Customers-Say.com And, when you’re ready to list, trust that you’ve got the right person working to sell your home — the person with expertise and true attention to service.
